Aston Martin DB11 Information
Few things characterize England as easily as tea, royalty and Aston Martin. The DB11 model is a GT or Gran Turismo type car with the perfect balance between power and luxury, but quite easy to drive and that invites you to venture out on the roads.
You will want to step on it fully and be able to feel in your hands those 320 km / h of maximum speed that reminds us of that heritage from the legendary and now extinct DB9, but without sacrificing a modern and comfortable design. It has a 2 + 2-seater concept and with elements such as its led daytime running lights combined a fuel economy of 14 km / L and its full Euro6 approval.
Added to that, it has an elegant and aerodynamic demeanor that we can connect with the pure blood essence of Aston Martin’s golden years and its relationship with the tracks. It evokes previous designs, but without losing innovation and that can transform anyone who drives it into James Bond himself.
This model is the preferred choice for a driver who wants to experience pure supercharged power characteristic of a sports car without losing comfort when driving. It is a model that you can take daily to work for its elegant personality, or shopping in the city.
It would make any model shake a weekend on the tracks given the alliance with Mercedes-Benz that, we know, are experts in intonation and manufacture of engines, but they adjusted all the capacity of their V8 taking it even to 7200 rpm covering the needs dynamics and design specific to DB11.
Highlights its 8-speed transmission, its spectacular ceramic brakes that guarantee immediate braking to avoid the curves of all the roads and highways that you intend to travel.
The Aston Martin DB11 leaves the factory in Gaydon, England, at 4.75 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.28 meters high, with a marked design focused on efficient aerodynamics and mounting two engine models manufactured in collaboration with the German house Mercedes-Benz
Both direct injection, a version with a gigantic 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 and with an incredible 608 horsepower and 700 Newton meters of torque that keep you glued to the asphalt.
It also comes equipped with a V8 biturbo version that we find present in other Mercedes Benz models, with a not inconsiderable 4.0 liters of displacement and that put 510 horsepower at your complete disposal. They come into contact with the road through 20-inch alloy wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear axle.
Both engines are placed in front position and with rear wheel drive that will give you a very intense and extremely fun driving sensation, if you wish. So much so that you will be able to reach 100km / h in 3.9sec since that power is more than enough to drive its 1860 kilograms of weight that are controlled with great precision by a comfortable flat-bottomed steering wheel placed as a nod to the tracks.
Its steering is completely electric, ideal for navigating tight curves or parking in tight spaces, aided by the integrated cameras that cover the 360 degrees of the vehicle in order to avoid collisions.
All the propulsion power of the DB11 is transformed into power by an 8-speed automatic transmission that makes its ride incredibly smooth. The driver will not feel the gear changes that are made through robust gearshift rods fixed to the steering wheel and that occur in tenths of a second making you feel in a very linear way the acceleration on the road and the power of the engine.
Another feature that makes the ride smoother and reduces noise on the road are its massive 255-millimeter front and 295-millimeter rear wheels. By relocating the fuel tank, Aston Martin engineers achieved a boot load capacity greater than that of its predecessor the DB9 and that with 270 makes enough room for two well-organized suitcases.
It includes an integrated design element as a gift umbrella for the buyer of the vehicle, a hallmark of the brand, given the permanently rainy climate of England. Another characteristic element of the model is the finest quality leather inside, certain designs stand out, such as the sunshades or the upholstery of the posts, which are carefully assembled and made with the highest quality materials and light weight so as not to sacrifice sportsmanship.
You find finely worked wooden details are integrated into the central tunnel, a cargo space with automatic hatch fills the space between the two main seats, ideal for storing small objects such as cell phone, wallet and even the same ignition key as it must be inside the vehicle to be electronically enabled.
This Aston Martin model is a very exclusive sports car, but also very sober unlike traditional Italian super sports cars. Even with characteristic power figures, the driving sensation of the British sports car is much calmer, more typical of a Gran Turismo.
It is precisely for this reason that the center of the vehicle’s entertainment system is designed for easy access by the driver with a touch panel that controls practically all the vehicle’s multimedia systems. It incorporates bluetooth telephony and the browser that are displayed on a 12-inch central screen that does not compromise visibility or is distracting.
On the steering wheel we find several controls, the most prominent of which is that it controls the driving mode. The vehicle has three factory driving settings, the GT which is the smoothest and most comfortable for cruising speed, the Sport and the Sport + which progressively adjust the intonation of the vehicle, the sound of the exhaust and the stiffness of the suspension. not even in the most extreme of its configurations does it lose comfort.
This is due to its incredibly well soundproofed cabin combining leather and alcantara and assembled with detail by hand by factory craftsmen.
