Lamborghini Urus information
The Lamborghini Urus is the long-awaited utility of the Italian company, a hybrid between sports car and SUV that comes with an optional 4 or 5 seats and a good size that shares a platform with other versions of SUV Volkswagen group.
Lamborghini’s intention besides standing out with this design is to get into the minds of a new group of customers. They put the Urus in Lamborghini’s portfolio of options next to the Huracán with all its versions and the new Lamborghini Aventador renovation that arrives even more extreme with the S version.
The Urus arrives as the second utility model of the company after the extinct LM – 002, but with a much more modern and sporty style. The LM-002 was launched in the middle of the decade of the 80’s and very few units were produced sharing the huge V12 engine with the Lamborghini Countach.
The Lamborghini Urus is a very wise decision for the Santa Agata Bolognese company, both economically, as it boosts the company’s sales, and in terms of engineering, as it reflects a majestic collaboration between the Volkswagen platform and members of the Lamborghini design team.
They achieved very sporty aerodynamic lines for a car classified as a sport utility. A very formidable decision if you want to get an SUV in today’s market, it will satisfy all your needs, from power, to comfort, cargo space, and multiple security systems that make it an ideal car for the whole family, without losing its sporty heritage courtesy of the Italians.
If you are adventurous and want to try your luck off-road you will be pleasantly surprised with the capabilities offered by this Urus and its all-wheel drive managed by ANIMA and its driving modes.
The Lamborghini Urus is powered by an 8-cylinder Biturbo engine with a maximum output of 650 horsepower and the best power-to-weight ratio in the sport utility vehicle segment. The performance of the Urus is far superior, and a curious fact is that Lamborghini had approximately 30 years without using a turbocharged 8-cylinder engine platform.
With 4.0 liters of displacement is quite the torque that can offer this machine, with about 850 Newton per meter in a range of revolutions between 2254 and 4500. This turbocharged 8-cylinder engine has a trim line above 6800 revolutions per minute, which makes it an engine with quite a bit of character at our command.
This V8 Biturbo engine is capable of taking the Urus to a top speed of 305 km per hour, ensuring it a place among the fastest cars on the market. It can reach 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.6 seconds. With this model’s SUV body configuration Lamborghini mounts the engine in longitudinal front position to transmit power to all four wheels and vacate the rear for cargo space.
With an unladen weight of 2200 kg and an overall length of 5.1 meters, it is a fairly large vehicle at 2.01 meters. It is also quite wide, and with a total ground clearance of 1.68 meters it can negotiate all obstacles in its path.
The Lamborghini Urus mounts a new all-wheel drive system with center differential and distributes the power in such a way that it adapts to the road conditions demand it. It has a very smooth 8-speed automatic gearbox and very advanced technologies that increase comfort when driving this sport utility vehicle.
This car can easily be used for an off-road adventure or for a full city environment. In case you want to take fast corners, the steering is very smooth and it has a rear axle that rotates in the same direction as the front wheels to make the ride much smoother.
This model is also equipped with an air suspension that absorbs all the bumps in the road and active stabilizer bars that keep the steering wheel straight as an arrow. The 8-speed automatic transmission system along with the steering system allows the driver to be in control in any situation that is compromised.
Partly because Lamborghini, according to its configuration, decided to send most of the torque to the rear axle to make the car feel quite sporty to drive. The Urus integrates a completely revised safety system that offers a level of comfort that is ideal for everyday use and difficult to find in competing SUVs and can be adapted to the needs of any type of driving.
This vehicle feels safe and drives very easily. Among the equipment options offered by Lamborghini you can configure a very luxurious and comfortable vehicle, especially for passengers in the rear of the vehicle.
The ANIMA platform, which stands for Advanced Network Intelligent Managment, shares with its big brothers, an electronic system that controls all the behavior of the vehicle, taking the driving experience to another level.
The ANIMA system is a Lamborghini patented secret that facilitates all vehicle navigation, access to its entertainment system and driving modes. ANIMA adjusts the car’s settings according to the mode selected by the driver, for road, there are three modes.
The Strada, which is the softest with a comfortable and safe driving, the Sport, in which the suspension is stiffened a little to give more agility and fun to the driver and the CORSA version, which raises the performance of the vehicle to the maximum.
The Lamborghini Urus has three other driving modes, but for off-road. The NEVE for maximum grip on wet and slippery terrain, the TERRA, completely off-road and the SABBIA perfect for loose and sandy surface. The fifth driving model is called EGO, which is programmable according to the preferences and tastes of each driver.
Among the traction assistance systems we have the ADAS, or Advanced Driver Assistance System, which includes the Urban Road, Full Fairy and Highway variants with updated safety systems.
