Porsche Panamera 4s information
The Porsche Panamera is a sedan body type version, although some categorize it as a small urban SUV, presenting a rather daring design, but with the characteristic airs of the company by Porsche engineers.
With a first generation launched in 2010, shared some components with contemporary cars of the Volkswagen group, such as the engine that came to share with her sister brand the Cayenne. It was intended by Porsche as competition for models with similar characteristics, such as the Mercedes Benz CLS or the Maserati Quattroporte.
The Panamera is one of the Porsche models that has more versions, aiming to cover the largest number of existing market sectors. Since the launch of its latest generation, it is offered in the variants 4, 4S, 4E-Hybrid, which consists of a version with a small plug-in hybrid engine in addition to the gasoline engine and completely eco-friendly, Turbo and Turbo S.
One of the most outstanding features of this car is the speed control with distance regulator, which regulates the speed depending on the distance it maintains with the car ahead, this is done completely autonomously, a plus when traveling long distances on family trips, which after all, is the central purpose of this car.
With a sporty, yet comfortable interior for a long journey, the Panamera offers just about everything, with revised ergonomics that are performance and driver-oriented without sacrificing occupant comfort.
Elements such as a higher center console that gives the driver quicker access to the selector lever, a redesigned cockpit with better positioned gauges. We found a center console with a new glass design and touch buttons that were grouped in such a way that they are virtually intuitive.
The Panamera is a family car, of that we are sure, but if you decide to take a fast track, or even try a track experience, it will more than meet your expectations, since this sedan is quite aggressive if you dare to step on the accelerator.
The new generation 4S Porsche Panamera is offered with 3 engine models, this 4S mounts a V6 Biturbo engine of 2.9 liters and 400 horsepower, which are delivered in a range of revolutions ranging from 5650 to 6500. There is also a 4S Diesel version with a 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine and 422 horsepower, these engine varieties make the Panamera more dynamic than ever when driving.
These engines are accompanied by the chassis control system PDCC Sport, which stands for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport, which for the first time is mounted on the Panamera. This system is part of the philosophy that Porsche applies in which no matter if you go in front or behind, whenever you are in the car you should be able to feel the sportiness, as the brand says, it should be comfortable, not cozy.
This chassis is the perfect symbiosis between these two elements, sportiness and comfort thanks to all the technologies applied, such as the adaptive air suspension, with three air chambers and 60% more air volume than the previous generation. Also new is the Porsche 4D Chassis Control chassis regulator, which with the help of sensors analyzes driving situations, and from this calculates the parameters to be used in real time.
Hence the name 4D, because time is the fourth dimension, so that the driver always experiences a sporty and comfortable ride.
Porsche in this Panamera mounts the Porsche Doppelkupplug system, or PDK for its acronym in German, which translates to Porsche Double Clutch, since there is no point in getting more power from an engine if it can not be put efficiently on the asphalt.
This transmission has 8 speeds, which were designed by Porsche so that the driver does not feel its transition, since the change is made quickly and efficiently to have the power immediately.
The first six speeds have a fairly sporty relationship, even the maximum speed of 289 kilometers per hour can be reached in sixth gear. But the seventh and eighth have a gear reduction function, to reduce the engine speed at high cruising speed for long stretches and not to force the engine or result in an annoying noise for the occupants.
And as Porsche specifies with its official data, the purpose of this dual-clutch transmission is to perform the changes without interrupting the torque input or experience loss of traction, remarkable features for a vehicle in this segment and with this type of architecture.
This PDK technology is associated with the PTM or Porsche Traction Managment system, an active all-wheel drive with electronically managed multi-disc clutches that is programmed by engineers to distribute power optimally in any driving situation experienced. For example, to achieve excellent progress on long straights or to have traction on surfaces with different coefficients of friction.
With quite generous measures, as are 5 meters long, and 1.5 meters wide Porsche Panamera with its 4 full seats is a sedan that does not look like a sedan. It looks more like a sports car of exaggerated dimensions, but with a firmly planted roof, an elegant contour and some aerodynamic elements that remind us of the flagship model of the house of Sttugart, the 911.
With a longer wheelbase, with 2.95 meters, which was achieved by reducing the front overhang and lengthening the rear and that reinforce the style, along with the very marked rear sides that make it more Porsche than ever.
It is a work of art LED multipoint daytime running lights, including the PDLS, Porsche Dynamic Light System, which, accompanied by the rear stop rear, also equipped with LED technology with 4 light points. It has a deployable rear spoiler that hides in the bodywork, but at high speeds adds some more downforce.
As for brakes, the new Panamera is equipped with a system of forged aluminum calipers with 6 pistons in the front and four in the rear, with ventilated and grooved discs, which improves braking response in situations of high demand, dissipating heat much more efficiently.
