The list of places that we comment below to see in Mallorca will help us not to skip anything on this island that brings together everything a traveler can dream of, making the most of the time in Mallorca.
The largest of the Balearic Islands is not just a summer destination where you can enjoy its beaches with crystal clear waters and its lively nightlife. The island is also known for its great cultural and historical heritage, old and charming coastal towns, impressive natural landscapes and cuisine based on fresh fish, which delights any palate without forgetting gems such as the ensaimada and sobrasada, which have turned Mallorca into a paradise.
One of the ways to get to know all the tourist places in Mallorca is by taking a route by car, which will allow us the freedom to stop in towns and viewpoints where public transport does not arrive or takes too long.
Mallorca is a large island, with all the points of interest located within a maximum of an hour’s drive from the capital. So it is also a good option to take small day trips from Palma, if you do not want to do a circular route.
Although the whole year is a good time to travel to Mallorca, if we want to swim on the beaches and save on accommodation, we recommend that we book in advance.
To get to the island you can find a flight to Palma de Mallorca or opt for the ferry that leaves from Barcelona and Valencia and that has the advantage of taking our own car.
Based on the experience of the time we have spent on this island, we have made a list of what we believe are the essential places to visit in Mallorca. Let us begin!
1. Palma de Majorca
Crossing the strait in the historic center of Palma to discover the beautiful interior patios of the old stately homes is one of the best things we can do in Mallorca.
In addition to the oldest part, in which its impressive Gothic cathedral stands out, the capital has castles, ports, beaches where you can relax and shops where you can buy the famous Mallorcan ensaimada for the first time.
The city offers a wide range of fun activities, both during the day and with water activities and boat trips.
Although we had enough with one day to explore all the attractions of the island, we would have liked to have had one more day.
